Clunking in rear w/ B&G's
I've just put a set of B&G coilovers w/ SPC's camber kit on my 2002 sedan. I'm still riding on stock rims. I have the coilovers set up so that the rear is just tucking. I'm getting this annoying clunking sound from both sides in the rear whenever I go over bumps at lower speeds. Anyone have any ideas what it could be? Thanks in advance.

did you tighten all the bolts? i know its a silly question to ask, but when i installed my springs thats what i did. you might also need to check that youre not bottoming out, like if youre ride height is set too low.

i dont know if its the same with b&g's or full coilovers BUT i have ground controls and koni yellows and i had the same problem in the front. the problem i had was there is a little plate that goes on the top, and it wasnt sitting correctly so it would make the noise when it hit bumps.....

yea my squeek like hell, i thought it was my body kit cuz when ever i when over just dips in the road it would squeek cuz of the tension i guess from the springs in the body. im to the tire in the back on 16's. i think its just the springs compressing i think, cuz mine are still quite new. i dont see a problem with it. its weird too cuz its only my back right too lol.

Rep Power: 0 Check your tires and fender wells to see if they are rubbing. If you tucked it, theres a possibility that you went to low, and it could be just bottoming out. A raise in height like you said just might do the trick.

mine squeeks and clunks on the back right as well...
and its probably because its on the lowest setting
anyway, i tried raising the rears up yesterday and it wouldnt budge...anyone got any tips on how to adjust the rears??
Clunking sounds in the rear? Does it sound like someone is in the back of your car crushing cans? If so, it could be your dust boots (I'm assuming you used your stock dust boots for your B&G's). I have Teins, and I had a clunking problem too in the rear. The coilovers were actually hitting the dustboots and that's how the sound occurred. I solved this by trimming the boots about 1/2" to 3/4". Maybe that's your solution. Good luck man.

Also, when i try to move the perch i notice that the bottom bolt (in the pic) has some movement...is that a bad thing?

Rep Power: 0 That is a problem that you should look at. I remember reading something that your bushing or something in there can be damaged. It would be because you over torqued the nut. Some one warned me that you should not torque it down hard until you drop your car to the ground. Can you remember if you did that or not? Check to see if there is damage in that area.

Rep Power: 0 i got under my car last night and noticed that one of the rear dust boots was torn......i thought that they might be the reason for the noise so I cut the one torn one out........no luck, it was still making noise.........my plan is to try and get some new boots from b&g for the rear but this time cut them in half...at that point i also plan to cut the bump stops in half.......i have a feeling that they are they reason for the noise because nothing else under the car appears to be loose........does anyone have any other input on this
Have you checked the inlets for the lower bolt? If the inlet ripped, you might need a new strut and make sure that bolt is properly installed. (Screw in with the car up, tighten once the car is on the ground.)
