New Springs + Shocks?
Hey guys,
I'm planning on putting on new H&R Sport Springs w/ an approximate 1.4-1.5" drop on stock 15" Si rims. Now, my question is this: is it completely necessary to get new shocks as well? Some say yes, some say no -- but realistically (for me at least) do I really need new springs? I don't plan on driving my car hard and I'm mainly getting the springs for show and better cornering performance. Thanks!

Depends..... the stock shocks will work, but they will be under-dampering the car... and eventually they will blow. Basically, you will eventually want to change the shocks.
Little known fact... a car will handle better with Performance dampers on stock springs vs sport springs on OEM dampers.....

If you're going to be putting springs on you mind as well just get new shocks and install them at the same time. I wished that I would have installed them at the same time because my shocks are blown right now and it sucks.

blown shocks aren't as bad as people make it out to seem.....they prolly got hemorhoids or something that makes it unbareable.....when i had goldlines the ride was fine no problem what so ever IMO but eveyrones different i guess.

I guess if I'm only getting H&R Sports or Eibach Pro-kit (both ~1.3-1.5" drops) then I could just wear the stock shockies out gradually before upgrading. I mean, I might as well use them, not like they're complete crap..
and I mostly do city driving with the odd speedbump/pothole here and there, so that'll help

The ride may not be that bad, but the handling is pure crap.

The car doesnt bounce all over the damn place for you? I'm surpised man. I always felt like I was walking on the moon. Like the bouncin would never stop, like I had no shocks. The teins ride a litte rough but I like em that way actually. They feel very stiff and these absorb bumps instead of making me bounce.

you can feel it, it wont be as smooth and you will bounce alot, and if you look at your shocks you may see oil dripping down the sides. I had the dripping oil and the bounce.
