i installed neuspeed springs with koni inserts in front and koni shocks in back about 2 yrs ago. Everything was fine untill recently. My problem is that there is play between the insert and the strut housing, so when i grab the rotors the insert doesn't move but the strut housing does. It's affecting my acceleration, braking, and cornering as the struts tend to move anyone have this problem.

If you've got a late model 02 or newer you may have bought the wrong sized strtus... strange that you'd just be noticing it now though.

^^ thats what my guess would be.. The 2001s and some of the 2002s use the 50mm koni inserts... The 2002 + use the 55mm ones.

Thanks guys. Im 100% sure they are the correct size 50mm i have a 2001.Just in case i will check back to see if they are 50mm, but im sure they are. The problem just recently started. One side is really bad the other is just starting to have a little play. Any other suggestions Thanx

You need to determine what wore out, the insert or the housing or both.

Or you can just take the insert out and rotate it a small amount so the three bumps that are on the side of the insert arent in the original location. Make sure that you torque the bolt down that holds the insert in to 55 ft lbs with a new lock washer. This is what I did to one of mine that was causing a popping noise when I turned the steering wheel. So far so good and no more freeking annoying popping noise.

what was that you said about the three bumps and rotate them.Tell me if im right koni has these three bumps to ensure there is no play between the insert and the housing. please elaborate on these bumps flotsamm

has anyone had or heard of their factory struts being cut to short or in the wrong place when installing their inserts
