softest possible ride
soooooooo, most of you that know me know i dont give a flying f*ck about performance, and that i dont know anything about cars in any aspect other than electrical. I think that the overly abused civvy and the ridiculous weight ive put in the trunk at various times has maybe made some shocks go byebye. also, ive been on this new quiet and softer ride trip so i can better enjoy my music. i was also remembering a guy i knew with a camaro with a suspension setup thinger on a camaro where he could adjust the damping a ridiculous rate. his rear was stiff as all hell nd his front was mushier than a caddy.
I want my car to ride like a caddy. What can i buy to make it ride like so?

Coils are gonna firm it up. You're gonna be looking for some of those "Luxury" Springs. Tein makes them now, or Neuspeed Sofsports. They're basically a nearly stock spring rate with a more progressive rating to them so they stiffen more than stock as it gets loaded up. They ride pretty soft... pair them with a set of Konis set on soft and you'll probably be in for a nice sunday ride with Miss Daisy.

i also need it to be able to handle the increased weight that i throw in the car. sometimes up to 300 pounds in the trunk with a full passenger load on a regular basis.

from what i read, if you get the B&G with speed sensative dampening via a 2nd spring thing. If you have a heavy trunk and loads of ppl, it will mistake that extra load as speed and ride stiff as hell in the back.

"from what i read, if you get the B&G with speed sensative dampening via a 2nd spring thing"
its not the 2nd spring, its the shock and all shocks are "self adjusting" to a certain extent. its mostly a marketing gimmick. the 2nd spring is just a spacer spring. it keeps the main spring in place when the car is jacked up.
"Tein is a really soft suspension when you tell it to be (damper settings) "
not nearly as soft as stock. just because you can make the damper soft doesnt mean that its going to change the characteristics of the spring. keep in mind the spring rates on the teins are like 450/550 while stock is probably almost half of that.
but yeah as boiler said, best thing for you would be lowering springs with koni's. since you want it soft, something like h&r's or something.
as for air bags, the ride isnt all that great. well it depends on the settings/kit. a lot of them dont come with shocks.

stay stock. most comfertable ride
Dampening has a lot to do w/ ride comfort/stiffness as well. I've had TEIN SS 8/10 (kg/mm) and then JIC FLT A2 w/ 8/9 and the JICs were definitely stiffer...not by much compared to my current rates, but definitely stiffer.
EDIT: Keeping in mind I always had the TEIN's dampening pretty stiff, while the JICs pretty soft (while keeping it critically dampened).
