lowering ?
lowering ?
I just got some 215/45/17 neo gens and i was looking at my car to see how much i need to get it lowered. It seems like if i were to get it lowered the tire would rub the fender and not fit completely inside the fender well. I know that when they put the tires on they used a wheel spacer, and i was thinking maybe that is causing the tire to stick out a lil further than i want. I'm sure someone else has posted this question before but i couldn't find it.

wer you sure they had put a wheel spacer in there and not a hub centric ring? Also it depends on how low you want to go and how much camber you are willing to accept.

A wheel spacer will make the wheels stick out even further, so its probably a hub ring. A hub ring centers the wheel on the axle when you bolt in down.
Sportlines give about a 1.5" drop on average I'd say. I think whats more important to know is what your wheel offset is. If its 42mm or more you should be okay, though dont quote me on that. Perhaps others can comment on this.

Most good wheel companies will have the offset stamped somewhere on the wheel. Usually its on the back side. Or, you cold try calling the company up or a wheel dealer and ask. You can lower with a 42mm or less, it mostly depends on the tire size. Most wheels are 40mm or higher.
