Springs Question...
I have a 2" inch drop on my car right now, I can still see a gap between the tire and the wheel well, I want it a little lower so there is no gap. I don't have coilovers, I have lowering springs, if I was to cut the springs to the drop I want, would the ride still be very bouncy if I have Koni Shocks? Or should I just get coilovers? Also, which are the best coilovers I can get for my 2k1? Thanx a lot.
You should not cut your springs.
You are better off getting coilovers with aftermarket shocks or a full set of coilovers.
There is no such thing as the "best" coilovers, all of them will work differently in different situations. It all depends on what you want to do with your car.

I have sprint springs, I was thinking of getting smaller tires I have 185/65-15 on my si's and the rims looks very small all my friends say they look funny on my car... so should I get coilovers or smaller tires?
My SL65 rim, because a rim is all I can afford

Yes, like prod said, don't cut your springs. I read that you can cut the dead parts off too, and from an engineering stand point that is bull (by the way I'll have my engineering degree tm). The way ANY spring works is buy cummitivley adding the resistance of each coil. So if the spring rate is say 100 lb per inch (just for example) and the spring is ten inches and you cut off 1 inch, your new spring rate going to be around 90 lb/in. These number are not exact because I don't feel like breaking out the physics books, but you get the idea. Buy the way, that is for linear springs, if you have a progreesive spring, it's way different, and worse.
