Spring Rates
Spring Rates
Hey,
I just have a question, I'm currently searching for springs & shocks, & with all the different spring rates that area round, from neuspeed to eibach to tein, all varies tremendously. how do you know which would provide an acceptable ride yet great for cornering?
I have a linear 240lbs/in up front & progressive 215-240lbs/in at the back on standard shocks. I'm planning to change both. reason being i found the front being a bit too hard. still i get similar body rolls compared to stock. oh, all on 205/45R17. thanks..
oh, what are the recommendations? I planned to get the konis yellow, is there a better choice? thanks again.

You could run slightly softer springs and then use the Anti Roll bars to tune your handling.
also about springs, Non-Progressive springs are what you want for racing, Progressive springs were designed for the street for better comfort but still retaingin performance. Unfortunatly The Variable spring rate just messes with you when your racing (Road race/autocross) and make the car a bit harder to predict.
also, it may be your wheel/tire choice thats making the front end seem to stiff. Low profile tires arn't known for their impact absorbtion.
