Im keeping my stock shocks on and i wanna drop my car a bit
how much is a good amount to go on my stock shocks if im lowering using lowering springs?
my friends told me dont go close to 2 inches, go between 1.5-1.7 inches all around
but he has a bug (volkswagen jetta) so i thought id ask some ppl who arent pulling figures out of their a$$! lol
anyways any input here would be of great assistance
thanks in advance

please read the suspension FAQ. It depends on too many factors to give you an answer or even an estimate. None of us will suggest putting springs on your stock shocks unless it was the prokit.

what Rob said.
Increasing the spring rates, which all lowering springs do, drastically increases wear on the shocks and this is typically what will blow the shocks (unless you bottom out fairly often). So almost no lowering springs (of any height) are good on stock shocks; even if they don't blow the springs will not be offering you the performance advantage that they would with aftermarket shocks.

Dude,
Be careful bud. Your shocks will go and it is Actually better to just do it ahead of time and get full coilovers like the hayames (hopefully we can work something out) or the tein basic.
