you guys must have got a crummy batch. Mine are prefect with 01' stock upper mounts. I don't have any of the noises you guys are describing. I've installed quite a few suspensions, and what your describing sounds like a bad install.

Bouncy as in you hit a bump and the car bounces several times after, or bouncy as in you hit a bump and you really feel it?

eh, this is such a hard thing to diagnose with out actually being there... Differences in opinions of bounce over rough, where the sound is coming form, when it happens......... Its like trying to describe the color purple to some one who has never seen it.

try to tigthen the 17 mm bolt that is on top of the upper mount. i read a post somebody saying he had a clunking problem. he just tightened it and went away. anyways, try doing that and see if the noise will go away.

It doesn't bounce at all, I don't know what Tiptroniccivic is feeling but its probably just the suspension being alot stiffer then stock.

I have the KW's - they are NICE coilovers....But they are rough. They are designed (as was stated before) more for performance. Mine handle beautifully on the highway, but hit some bumps and look out! They are not designed for larger bumps / potholes, so don't drive on a tank trail and expect them to perform.

I have noises too, but they are just normal shock noises (like a matress with squeaky springs) when I go over larger bumps. Its just the sound of the shock compressing (and the oil inside doing its job). The only other noise I have is the damn poly bushings I installed, if they aren't greased they squeak and squeal like a **** over bumps. I'd DEF be down to trying out the new upper mounts, but I don't have the extra cash right now......

YES!!! thats why I'm careful when I'm driving in the city. It really perform well when I'm driving in the highway. Just try tightening those bolts and see what happens.

clunking noise is gone. i tightened the 17 mm bolt on the upper mount.

hey TriptronicCIVIC, if you have a hard hitting feeling, try raising your car a little bit maybe that will help.

Ok... here's the deal fellas... any self respecting suspension company should offer custom rated springs. In other words, if you think that 350/500 is too stiff, call KW, and see if they'll make a set thats 275/400.
what about if you have a stereo.......should u stick with the 350/500? Also, i have turbo and that is heavy.

To tell you the truth - I've had 2 big guys in the back, and 1 in the front seat next to me - and the car seems to handle better than with just me in it! I don't think you should have any problems with a box in the trunk, they can take a lot of weight....

i dont know what your main concern is, but:

i have two 12inch subs in the trunk... with two amps.. and three large piece of wood in it.
my rear height is dropped to the LOWEST on the KW V2.
and the dampering is set 1/4 to the softest.

the front is about half a turn left b4 it's dropped at the lowest.

depending on what roads you ride on....... smooth, bumpy/uneven...
you can usually feel all of the ground. haha.

i got used to it.. but when it's really bad.. you'll definitely feel it. lol

and im not talking about pot holes... just horrible roads.
and im in Toronto Canada... roads are horrible here. but it's better up north... as in north toronto.... there are newer roads there.. so it's better to drive up there....

HANDLING IS AMAZING THOUGH. gatta sacarfice one to gain on another.

at least that's what they all say. lol

so then what are the teins if they are not stainless steel? for me that is sounding like a better choice for comfort reasons, unless i can get a custom set like suggested so its not as harsh

so would you say Kws with spring rates the same as tein ss is a better choice then tein ss, then you could also get the upper mount or part that Kw made for our cars with there coilovers? expensive but would it be worth it?

well, that's your choice
it all comes down to a person's preference

better handling or better ride quality.
and the purpose of your springs/coilovers

if they were exactly the spring rates... i would consider the KW's better...b/c it's stainless steel

but then again.. where do you live?
i live up here in Canada.. where the weather can get pretty nasty.
so the stainless steel can come pretty hand to a person like me.

now, you're asking if it's worth it to change the springs rates of the KW's to tein's....
well, if you have the money....... sure
but other then that, i dont think you should go through all the trouble.

if you just want a soft ride quality.. and want to speed a lot less money
go with springs and shocks.

but then again.. if you want the full set-up... it'll go about 2bills at the most.. extra. in canadian funds.
so that's why i went with the full set up.

better handling comes down to your spring rates and the height you have it on.

which is what i have always believed. i could be wrong though
