I just went from stock to 18's with 215/40-18 Hankook Ventus K104 tires. My ride quality has gone to ****. I can feel every little bump in the road and the tires seem to really catch in grooves in the road and roll me around.
I am about to install a set of Neuspeed sport springs, is this going to make my ride quality even worse? Damn I dont know if I can sacrifice the looks for the degredation in handling.
Anyone else have this problem when switching wheels?
Anyone have the Neuspeed sports and notice a difference after install either good or bad? Thanks

Yea i am sure ride quality sucks with 18" wheels. Ride will get alot worse with lowring springs. You will feel every little bump in the road. I am not sure about those tires but maybe upgrade with new tires eventually. 17"(215/45/17) was perfect for daily drive for me. Even with drop. Rides pretty good. Cant complain. If you are really tired of having crappy ride. Just sell those and buy smaller wheels.

well to not damage the wheels you are going to be carefull to avoid potholes and other such road hazards. the neuspeed sport springs are going to make you feel the road even more.
If you want to keep the 18 and have a smoother ride, then you're going to need some springs with lower rates, and a set of Softer shocks.
the issue you're dealing with on your car is 2 things, 1 is the lack of tire between you and the road and the other is the Higher unsprung weight that your suspension is having to deal with. with 18s on a civic there is a level of ride harseness that you are just going to have to live with. because, you can only put so thick of a tire on an 18 and still have it fit, and you can only go so low of a spring rate and not have the car bottom out all the time. a set of Koni might smoth it out a little, but Konis have stiffer valving then the stock shocks so you may actually feel more of the road (even on their softest setting).
Good luck with that, you may just have to learn to like it.

^ agreed to that
personally i don't believe u can get a smooth ride with 18's +
with softer shocks, and springs, u may even encounter more problems (like tire rubbing whenever u hit a bump or somethin) ... like zzyzx said, u'll just have to deal! >_<

By the way nice avatar............for a 12 year old
Your problem is ur 18's. It is almost impossible to have a good ride quality with them. I have 17's (215/45/17) and they have greatly improved my ride and handling. I got Toyo Proxes FZ4's. Konis shocks, as mentioned above, will most likely not improve your ride. So, also said above, you can either live with it or sell them: your choice?

1. 40 series tires are not designed for comfort.
2. Hancocks are not the best tires. thoses tires are worse than kumhos. Very noisy tire also.(pep boys sells them)
3. 18's with stock springs means your car is going to be sitting higher than stock, extra body roll.
Lower your car and it wont handle like a truck.
