neuspeed tie bar info needed
neuspeed tie bar info needed
I just got the upper front brace and it's awesome. How are the rear lower brace and front lower x brace?? Does the x brace REPLACE the front lwr control arm? or is it used together? is it absolutley necessary to upgrade the front and rear sway bars? or can I stay factory? I don't want to install a bar and have the new bushings make noise.

no it attaches to the control arms. And there is no need to get both the X brace and the tie bar. you can stack factory. The tie bar wont do anything but help if you upgrade your sway bar. The x brace gives a little more strengthening to the chassis.
wait.. I don't get it... which bar don't I need? the rear lower? I only have the front upper now... and want to get the X brace and the rear lower to reduce the flexing at the front and rear lower pickup points..

Blah, i recommend the neuspeed upper and front under X brace. Everything else they have is way overpriced! You don't need a front tie bar if you are getting the x brace. You don't need a rear tie bar unless you upgrade your sway bar. A tie bar is to make sure the chassis doesn't break. The progress rear and neuspeed rear sway bars come with integrated tie bars.

Progress is not generic. You can get the full progress setup with poly bushings for half the cost of the neuspeed set. And why pay for a "top of the line" tie bar if there is no need for one. I just have the RSX sway bar there is no need for me to waste $150 on a neuspeed tie bar.

that's fine, but even if you do get the same company all the time, they all don't necessarily work well together. So where's your Neuspeed springs???
hmm.. interesting. How about if I get the neuspeed rear sway/lwr tie combo, does the polyurethane bushings make noise? I heard that they do. Also, could I stick with the factory front sway bar? I don't do any hard core racing, but I would like more rigidity in the rear suspension tho..
Go progress!! there's a group buy going on right now for the progress front sway bar + rear sway/tie bar combo for like $325... there has been alot of good reviews about it, but if you wanna go all one brand, then get the neuspeed one

I do the best bang for the buck thing, but I try to match up components. So... I have Progress sway bars (front and rear) and Spoon Sports strut bars (front and rear). The Spoon may not have been the cheapest, but I also look at quality of the product. Name means almost nothing to me. The Spoon had the best bang for the buck. Anyway... Sorry for throwing this topic off topic.

I went with all three for show purposes. . . but they all did perform VERY well together. Took the car on the autocross course in full show regalia . . . I turned the 3rd best times out of 20 novice my first time out. May not sound impressive, but I beat my friend who's been out there several times. He's an excellent driver but couldn't keep his 96 hatch as stable in the slaloms. . . even with his suspension mods. The rear end will kick out on extremely hard cornering. . . sounds bad, but it's totally predictable every time. Nice thing is, with the Konis and good springs. . .there was almost no body roll. I think the only way I could have improved my setup would have been a full coilover system
Okay. . . so yeah. The upper strut bar. . . glad you have it.
Lower X-brace. . . a must for precision steering.
Lower rear tiebar/swaybar . . . as you've been told, there ARE alternatives. . . but I would do something back there. The lack of a tiebar and the puny stock swaybar are NOT sufficient for spirited driving. . . . let alone any race course.

lol someone's a neuspeed freak.
they're okay. some are good priced, some aren't.
i have the front strut, and rear tie bar. the rear tie bar is just a shiny accessory. lol.
it does mount at stock rsx location though. so maybe it does something. *shrug*

Sorry if this thread is really old or something but there always seems to be a lot of debate around progress versus neuspeed, if neuspeed made a front sway bar that worked on an 02 ex then i would get it but they dont so the only one available is the progress, but which works better with a progress front, a progress rear or spend an extra hundred and get the neuspeed? the tie bar on the neuspeed one just looks massive but is the progress the same quality? sorry if this seems repeditive, but really what does work best? and is it ok to mix and match parts?

yeah you don't really need the front x-bar if you already have the front upper. I have both and didn't really feel much of a difference with the x-bar. The lower rear tie bar is ok, still waiting for neuspeed to come out with the rear upper.

why pay more money for a product of simliar value. Progress and Neuspeed have identical thickness. I alway suggest progress because they are over $100 cheaper. You will need to get new endlinks if upgrading to those large sway bars.

Bigger anti-roll bars put more stress on the endlings = premature endlink failure. bushings.... which bushings? the ones for the anti-roll bar? or for the lower control arms?

what class are you runing? because that may limit you to what you can have done......
For a Rear anti roll bar Mite I suggest this...... Comptech adjustible anti-roll bar For RSX For civic (This is the best price I could find) and Adjustiblity is well worth the $$$.
bot include rear lower tie bars in their construction. other wise for chassis reinforcement, get the Neuspeed Strut tower brace, the spoon front Lower Tie bar, one of the many Rear upper Tie bars. the Tenabe/Neuspeed Sub frame reinforcemts are not leagal for most classes.
