tein good vs bad
the local place i went to for my parts said tein products are like the bottom of the line, the japanese consider them low quality kinda like we consider apc here, and he was sayin to go with H&R cupkit or coilover when they come out soon, i was jus wonderin anyones comments cause when i was on ephatch for my si and now on here everyones always sayin how tein are really great and all.
what......Tein is the TOP suspension comp. in Japan. all i can sayin that shop you went to, prob. Germany lover......
for ur Si, you can get Tein Flex....cost around $1,500. but i doubt H&R make any susp. more than $1000

blah! tein makes great products. you forget that in japan you have things like Buddy Club, JIC, Spoon, Mugen, TRD, Nismo, Enless, etc which make very expensive, great products. I would somewhat agree that Tein may seem like the bottom or the barrell in Japan with all those other great companies, but they are by no means a shitty product. the basic and ss are very good for street use. the flex is great for autocrossing. I highly recommend tein!
same here and ur "salesman" is just that hes trying to sell what he probably makes the most on and can get....i just got the flex kit and its nice....i like em alot....H&R are good too dont get me wrong but true coilovers id say tein are the way to go unless u want apexi n1 for the rsx which are 2500 and they are probably just as good as the tein maybe a lil better but not mcuh from what ive seen from the n1s but make ur own choice dont let them

Its not the top of the top of the line stuff, but it's by no means crap. There are better ones available, but it becomes excessive at some point. Come on... do you really need the 30 settings in the $3000 HKS dampers?
I've heard some of the kits could use better valving, but never heard they're bad. There's the junk, theres the middle range and theres the top end stuff. I'd put Tein somewhere in the lower region of the top end stuff.

I got some tein basics on my car and it rides pretty smooth i guess, not as bouncy and soft as my eibach sportlines with blown stock shocks. I kinda wish i bought the Tein SS because the basics isn't stiff enough for me.
