Rep Power: 0 Installed Tein Basic Today
WOO HOO i installed my tein basics today and it's hella better than the eibach sportlines i had on stock shocks. Just adding my 2 cents on them and their pretty stiff and a lot more comfortable to ride in than the bouncy setup i had with eibach sportlines and stock shocks. Just one thing though with installation i cut the rear dust boots but didnt cut it enough cuz the driver rear side makes this crazy a$$ rubbing noise, so i'll cut em on my day off on sunday... but yeah im friken happy and my tires stay on the road and doesnt walk all over the damn place anymore... just my two cents =) i'll post new pictures on the car dropped on Teins sunday, but got some installation pics in "my ride" page so check it out.

Rep Power: 0 Lucky you I'm still waiting to borrow tools to install mine. Can you take some pictures of the dust cover you are cutting? I want to know how much I need to cut. I also emailed Tein with some questions regarding the damping setup between the SS and the basic and recommended height:
Tein staff,
I just purchased the Tein BASIC coilovers and I would
like to know how would they compare to the Tein SS in
terms of damping. I know the tein SS has 16 levels of
damping so would the Basic shocks be set at 8?? Also,
what is the recommended drop for the Basic coilovers?
My car is a 2003 civic EX coupe and it measures 15"
from the middle of the rim to the top of the wheel
fender for all four corners. The Manual recommends a
measurement of 12.6 all around that's almost a 2.5"
drop. Is this right?
Thanks
TEIN Response:
"Yes, the BASIC dampers are setup similar to a SS at 8/16. The
recommended drop for the 2003 Civic is -1.8 inches in the front and -1.8 inches in
the rear. The measurement from hub center to fender should be 12.7 inches
as you stated. Please check your installation manual to ensure that you are
measuring from the hub to the right place on the fender. You can also
verify your spring perch height, which is 1.4 front and 1.6 inches rear. If
you have any further questions please contact us."

Rep Power: 0 yups im enjoying it, but it seems like if i lower it a lot, the front has like maybe qt4 of an inch and the back about an inch left? it rides more bouncy? whereas if i raise it a little more it rides more firm? well this is the basic not the SS so i cant adjust the dampening. Someone let me know if you kinda experienced this?? oh and someone PM me that when shipped each tein was in it's own box and contained a package of stickers each, mines came in a big box with all in and only one package of stickers, did anyone else get 4 packages of stickers with their order of teins?imma post new pictures tomororw since i just washed my car and the weathers awsome so yeah =) Teins are dope hehe.
