Heat or cut my springs??
Yeah, those peices of **** Super High Technology coilovers didn't fit our cars, and now I want Skunk2 coils or some neuspeed race springs. But dammit, I can't take my car being stock height anymore. I'm thinking of cutting or heating my springs today. I'm going to get race springs or coils eventually, so is that just cool for now? Anybody out there with knowledge on this? Anybody out there with Cut or heated springs? Reply quickly!!! Joined: Aug 2001

Go ahead and cut them if you want. I don't understand why stock height is such a big deal? If you cut them you will have a really shitty ride and then you will be back on here saying "I cut my springs to lower my car and now my ride sucks. What should I do?" Lowering your car is a big thing. Just by cutting your springs or slapping aftermarkets on doesn't mean you did it right. To do it right you need shocks, springs and a camber kit or True coilovers not those sleeved coilovers.

yes i agree, wait and do it RIGHT... cutting springs remove the amount of spring there is, and what i learned from my physics class is that springs with less coil tend to occilate faster than longer springs.. heating the springs is probablly not as good, because it weakens the springs quite a bit, so i would just spend the money to get the race springs if that is your cup of coffee, personally that ride is a little too bouncy for my taste.. altho if you like that much of a drop, with stiff suspension, get TRUE coilovers

goldlines springs are like 120
tein s tech springs are 139 shipped. those springs arent even expensive. and its 20000000x better than cutting stock springs.

Your shocks are just gonna get damaged more quickly if you cut them, then you'll have negative camber and your alignment will be off, then your tires will start to wear, and so on! I say just wait until you get your springs. Yeah, have a little patience...
