attn:people who have teins

im looking to buy the tein basic, but i would like to know how the ride is, is it too stiff, or is it okay? is the ride equivalent to the recommended settings for the tein ss? also, i know i need an aligment after i reach my desired height, ive heard people say do it right away, others say do it in a week after the springs settle, which is it? how much is an alignment? and next camber kit, spc is better than ingalls right? and where can i find spc for cheap, if that is the best one? Lastly, i need 2001 parts right? i have a 2002. some say all you need is the bearings, others say a whole bunch of other stuff too, exactly which parts do i need and what part numbers so this installs perfectly and i hear no squeaks and popping noises, sorry for all the questions, but plz answer all of them, thanks, btw, i searched and got mixed answers as i stated above.

alignment. really depends on your local shops. call around.
i had 2002 ex. didnt need to buy any 01 bearing to put tein ss. had no problem using 02 stock suspension parts. you do not need alignment rightaway ,just drive around couple days and take it in for alignment.
tein isnt comfortable as stock suspension. stiffer than stock. no bounce, althogh you will feel once you hit bumps.

parts about 01 beaing crap. dont even need them but heres part numbers
you can order honda parts online, or at ur local dealer, make sure you tell them that the Hodna Part #.

01 Honda Bearing Part #: 51726-S5A-004 (make sure order 2 for FR, FL)
http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com...s=51726-S5A-004

yeh, u definitely needed that 01 bearing if you drive 02 model, cuz if you tried to put that 02 bearing on tein basic, once you jack up ur front wheel, then front units will come lose cuz that 02 bearing not fit right for tein, cuz the spring tension push out the 02 bearing, so only 01 bearing fit perfect to the tein basic or ss, if not then the prob. will come up....like noise when make turn, blah blah blah.....but if you dont wanna get 01 bearing, thats oky too, just make sure u DONT jack up ur front tire.

you will see when u get ur tein install...

Back when I was researching Tein Basic, I emailed Tein and they said that the Basic's valving is similar to the recommended setting of the Tein SS. Personally, I think thats too 'soft' a setting. I drive around with my SS's on their firmest, and it feels about perfect. I can accelerate through a curve, and the suspension stays level and composed. This has to be my most worthwhile mod.

Yes, get the alignment after about a week of driving around. Just before you get the alignment, you'll want to get your tape measure and check all four corners. make sure your front drops match, and that your rears match. my rears are set about 1/2" higher.

I went with the Ingalls kit from Greg at Hondawerx.com. It was about $135 shipped(includes front and rear hardware). I got the poly bushing type. The Ingalls seemed well engineered and very rugged, so I felt comfortable with them.

Hey I just installed my Tein Basics last week, it took a while but the result is everything I expected. The ride is stiff but not bouncy, andI did use the 01 bearing rings, better safe than sorry I guess cause it was kind of hard getting the front shocks on. Now I'm just waiting on my spc camber kit before I get my alignment done. Best mod on my car yet!

I doubt one's better than the other. They're made out of the same steel and have the same adjustments. I would think Teins would last a good 3-5 years of abusive driving, so maybe twice that if normal driving. They're rebuildable, so you could always freshen them up if you notice declining performance.
