Okay this might be a kinda newbie question but what exactly are coilovers? What is the difference between them and lowering springs?

there are coilovers...coilover sleeves and springs : coilovers come with the shocks/struts plus the springs so that you can adjust it up and down...sleeved coilovers are just the sleeves you slide over the exsisting shocks (stock shocks) onto the strut but your able to adjust it up and down also and lowering springs are just "Springs" and are set to one ride height , no adjusting and slide over the shocks also. I would go with a Full coilover kit though if ya had the money!!

so basically

Coilovers = adjust ride height

Springs= one ride height no adjusting

^ yep. and coils got a shitty ride, very very bouncy...coils are for show cars cause u can get the exact height u want....

sleeved coilovers got the bouncy ride a true coilover kit would almost cease that!!!
