Koni's coming out of the stock Housing.

A couple of days ago I was driving and I started to hear a small knocking sound coming from the right front. As I drove more and more during the day the nosie became more loud until it became unbareable. Today took of my wheel off to look at the suspension thinking a bolt might be loose but there was nothing there that looked loose, then I looked at the strut itself and saw a alot of the yellow exposed and when i pushed my suspension up that is what was making the knocking nosie. I was sorta doubtful at first so I took off the drivers side wheel and there was none of the yellow strut exposed. Taking another look on the passenger side i noticed there was about 2 inches exposed, and the little notch was above the cut ouf the stock housing. I did not pay much attention to this before but usally is there any of the koni's exposed on the front strut? I did not install the shock myself so should I try to hammer the strut back in or just take it to the shop?

I need help asap because i dont want to drive and tear up my suspension driving the car.

i think the notch you saw exposed on the passenger side should be well inside the stock shock housing. that's what keeps it from popping out. i wouldn't recommend "hammering" it in cuz you might damage something like taht. i'd take it to a shop or to where ever u got it installed at and tell them that they messed up and need to fix it.

yeah its definately the bolt on the bottom. it happened to me on the left front. it sounded like a bad ball joint at first but when i looked it was the bolt. make sure we all contact koni and complain so we can have them change it!
