Would this help handling?
If there was a way to get the wheels a little farther apart? Um, like remember that one commercial where they're like "wider is better"? If you could get the wheels a little farther apart would that help anything or not?
Just curious.

wheel spacers- does the trick but you'd want longer wheel studs.
H&R makes some good ones.

Get a camber kit and add some more camber.
It'll cost you some premature tirewear but going for more handling always costs something.
Toe out is good but not practical for street driving. It helps the car handle a lot better but the car suffers driving straight.

I really wouldn't extend it more than 3/4" of an inch. Well, he was talking about, if you get a wide body kit, then usually you have to get wheel spacers to bring the wheels closer to the outside of the fenders so it looks good. But you can extend the wheels without getting a wide body kit. I think grey is looking into it right now.

Yes I am.
What I'm working on is a set of custom rear lower control arms. They're billet aluminum and they're twice as strong as the stock set for buckling, but only half as strong for compression. Compression isn't even a factor though unless you can generate more than 35,000lbs of lateral force when cornering. The suspension geometry changes a little, but that isn't a big problem because everything can be adjusted. I don't know how much I can widen the track in back yet, but I'll let you guys know with a full DIY.
You'de also need to roll your fenders and get a camber kit to compensate for the suspension geometry change.

Play with the wheel offset. I widened the track on my car by pushing the offset out 8 mm. Add that to the extra 1" of rim width and I widened the track of the car by 1.62"... and they still fit in the fenders.

"big o tires" widened my rear tires during my alignment... i had my spc rear camber kit set all the way positive (so my camber was slightly positive) but the guy didn't know i had it on there so he adjusted the bolt on the lower control arm (it seems like it has two lock nuts on it)and this corrected the camber and now i'm sooo very close to rubbing with 205/40/17 which usually isn't even close to rubbing at all...
