Exclamation 17x7.5 45mm offset WILL IT FIT with 205 or 215???

OK OK I DID A SEARCH.......but nothing was posted about a 45mm offset...

As I read...ppl with a 215/15 rubbed with a drop.....

A little background....I have GC's and Koni's and I plan to get a CAMBER KIT

Now...what tire fits the best I know that 205 and 215 both fit well...but I don't understand where the offset comes into play...

I am in a bind between the 40 and 45 size and I need to see about 205 or 215....

Once I fix my camber will it rub with my drop...ppl have been saying that 205/40 is to thin but I don't understand that...so is a 205/45 better (I think its to fat...I like the 40 profile) But where does the offset come into play in regards to rims size and tire size.....

I want 205/40/R17 or 215/40/R17...but which is the best for our cars with a drop and camber kit...???

i have the same spec, 17x7.5 with 45 offset, i went with 215/45/17 tires, my car dropped with h&r sports 1.3" lower before settle, just installed the camber kit 2 days ago havent bring in for alignment yet but i corrected the rear camber on one side only and it LOOKS like 0 degree camber and no problem with rub, and i suggest getting 215 tires cuz u have 7.5 wide rims so that your rims are better protected, i dont even know if 205 tires will fit, but i suggest get a 7" wide rims i already bent mine a little going through a HUGE pothole on highway after 10 MINS OF DRIVING after i install the rims 2 weeks ago, hope this help

but if u have a 2" drop i suggest u get 215/40/17 tires so that rear fender wont rub but rims are less protected if u have a 40 series tires

or u can roll the rear fender so no problem at all after the camber kit or just dont adjust the camber so it wont rub at all but tires gonna go fast

Yeah....I know they are less protected...and that sux the big one....cuz it is taking me forever to get my rims in...and the roads in Edmonton are ****...but I know lots of ppl with 40 and it seems to be working well so far.....Except for one guy who mashed his rim...but he mashes his car all the time......

So if the offset is how far the rim sticks out....then....you don't think a 215 will be to big....??? But I understand the idea of putting a 215 on to protect it better.....I am mostly conserned about the Rubbing..but if you guys don't rub with a 45 profile..then a 40 should be fine???

Cuz I don't like the look of 45...it's to fat for me.....

for me its fine with 215/45, but my car not as low as yours, 215/40 will be fine, i just had bad luck that i went through that BIGGEST pothole on the whole highway!!!!!!u can always adjust the camber to the degree that it wont rub the fender, na, its perfect with 45mm and 215 tires imo

yeah, 215 is the thickest u can go without rubbing in the front while doing full turning cycle, and 205 is too thin for 17x7.5 rims

depends how much u wanna spend, do u go to track, normal driving but agressive on corners and dont go to track? i dont go autoX or track but i do corner aggressive all the time and i got the es100 and its very good on dry and wet (and do fast corners while road is wet), plus the thread looks good!!, but i dunno about nitto and falken tires, kuhmo 712 are also good, not as good as es100 but it save u 200-300cad than the es100, but if u planning on using the tires for winter get h4, my friends have h4 on and she said its pretty good both dry and wet and thread last alot longer than es100

45 offset on a 7.5" rim and a 215/45 tire will stand the possiblity to rub the front liners when you turn fully. There are some people on here who have +45 on a 7.5" rim, but I don't think they're running 215/45. I don't know that you need to worry about rubbing the fender lips too much with that much offset, but it depends how far you drop.

BTW... cheapest place to get AVS ES100s is Tire Rack... $97 each.

go on tirerack.com and check for reviews on tires, if u want something that stick to the ground and yet not too much money i suggest kuhmo, its also 280AA, should be aroun 650 installed if u find good deals in alberta

I have 215/40/17 with no wheel gap or a camber kit. I its a 7.5 rim on a 45 offset. This is the biggest offset you can use, or youll rub the rear rim on the lower control arm. There is only a couple of millimeters of clearance! Camber needs to be fixed, but to do so, youll have to roll the fenders to have zero camber. The only problem i had of this set up, is the tire not fully seated on the rim, which the lip of it is actually bulging out of the tire by a couple millimeters. This looks like *** and ruins the rim quickly (anybody else have this probem)? I love the low profile look of it but the rim doesnt fit properly. I also have heard that the 7.5 in rim will fit perfect with 215/45/17 because of more sidewall to stretch on the rim.

I don't understand this. I researched the tires and they are meant for 7-8" wide rims with 7.5" being the best fit. Maybe the guys installing your tires werent doing it correctly? I already had 215/40/17 on my old civic and the rims/tires fit perfectly.

Ok so then what is the problem...is it the 7.5 that gave you the problem? Because I don't want to get the 215 if it wont fit right....

And I don't plan on slamming my car that low so I have no clearance...But I do need a camber kit
