Hey everyone, the other day one of the studs on my drivers side front broke off. So I buy a replacement from honda and go to a brake place to get them to replace it, and they tell me that another lug nut isn't coming loose and that another stud on that same rim was going to break off. So I go to honda again and buy a second stud. Now, I figured that it can't be that hard to do it myself since I know how to take my brakes apart. I take off the brake caliper, disc, and basically am left with the front hub that the studs are sticking out of. I have no idea how to remove hub though. Removing the spindle nut in the middle doesn't work in removing the hub. I bought a service manual from a local store, but it was for a 2000 civic, and I figure that both years would be similar. I am still not sure, but the only thing that would have to be removed on the 2000 civic for the front hub to be removed would be the circlip, but looking at mine, I don't see anything similar to the picture. Could you all please help me, my car is sitting without a tire in my garage and I need to drive it soon.
Unfortunately, all I can say is that book won't help you because the 1996-2000 Civic brakes are different. The book looks like it's not going to help.
Did you ever find out how much it would cost to have the dealer do it for you?

$160 for Honda dealership to replace all four studs. (that price included tax for me as well). Only needed to replace one stud but since the hub was off, figured I may as well make sure it doesn't happen again with another stud.
