Blank rims???
Blank rims???
Where would one go about getting some blank rims 17x7 for machining if one so desired? Don't know if I will do it, just and idea sense I have access to a CNC. money is the biggest issue, thats why I'm asking and I've never really thought about where to get the rims.

If money is an issue, then custom machining wheels shouldn't be an option. If you're looking for 17x7 billets, Thats pretty damn big... you'd have to find 18" diameter bar stock and a shop that could handle it.... which is a pretty tall order. What's wrong with the hundreds already available that have been stress tested and proven to work???
I can't think of anything that is actually feasable, but here you go:
You could contact a low volume Billet Wheel manufacturer like Boyd Coddington in Cali and try to talk them into sending you semi-finished rims. I'm sure they would be leery due to liability issues.
Or you could try to purchase modular wheels with the rims already spun from Aluminum (from a low volume mfr. like Fiske in Seattle or Kinesis Motorsport) and machine your own centers from blank stock, but that defeats your purpose of saving money.
It's kinda like Boilermaker1 said, you are probably gonna end up having to start from scratch from a big old billet...

It's not that I want the cheapest things possible I just didnt' want to spend a crap load of money on the. I'm willing to pay what normal rims cost but not $400 per rim, you know stuff like that. I know you can buy these things because lots of peope have them, those who have the money to buy them, well I just need the blank rims because I have all the machining equiment to do it myself so I can do it at the cost of just the rims. I wouldn't need the 18'' bar shock just the plain old 17'' blank rims, they will fit into the clamp that is in the CNC machine.
