I got 215, one of my friend got 225. 225 will be just fine. if you got 18x7, go with 215. if you got 18x7.5, then go with 225

if you get 225 the rim has to be 7.5 inches wide to look perfect... if it is 215 7 inches is good...

with 225/40/18 your car will rub at funny angles of a driveway or if you turn your tires all the way to one side... other than that it is great, you will lose about 30-40 miles to the tank because of the weight of the rims and tires...

I called Discount tire. They say they will order 225/40-18 and let me try to see if they rub. if they do, I'll just keep the 215/40-18. I should find out by next tuesday.

my 215/40-18 never rubbed. I had the Yokohama Parada SpecII, never had a problem. These are Falkens now.

ya my 215-40-18s with neuspeed sports never rubbed either but they're just too thick for my taste. i wish i would have gone with 225-35-18(cause 215-35-18 is too thin)

Well, major potholes and roadwork where I live, so I need some extra lovin and protection for the rims. I will sacrifice looks over having to replace dented rims.

I wish Falken makes 225/35-18. The Ziex 512 handles very well on wet tarmac. Way better than Parada and Escta. Parada is superior on dry, but very poor on wet, those grooves are useless.

Yeah Yeah, people always say that "you'll rub with 225/40/18 and a drop" but the truth is that the people saying that don't have that size tire. When I first dropped my car I had a 17 inch rim with 205/40/17 tire. I dropped on GoldLine springs which is a pretty average drop, and I had about almost 1.75-2 inches wheel gap after the drop. I was dissatisfied with the wheels and tires so I decided to upgrade to 18's. After doing ALOT of research I found that the correct size for the 18" wheel would be a 215/40/18 tire because the specs are within factory. But I found a better deal with a 225/40/18 tire and 18" wheel. I was scared at first that the tires would rub on my suspension and fenders, because not alot of people have this tire size on their 7th Gen. But after installing the wheels I was suprised to find out that there is absolutely no rubbing at all with a GoldLine drop. I go over speedbumps, drive fast on the Highway, and make quick turns, and have no problems at all. The drop is pretty old (dropped for about a year now) so the springs are settled and are probably at the height it will stay at. Rest assured that 18's w 225/40/18 do not rub even with a drop, and I am Positive that you will not have problems especially if you are at stock height.

Good Luck.

Only take what I said if the rim you are considering is a 7.5 inch or less width. Anything greater than 7.5 inch and a wider tire than 225 is pushing it and should rub. But if you have a 18x7.5 inch with 225/40/18 (which is what i have) then you'll be good.
