How do i know when the thread on my tires is no good, for example with stock Firestone's what can be used to mesure it...

in between tread blocks on all tires are small raised areas these are tread wear indicators. The sidewall usually has an arrow pointing to were they are located.
once your tire has worn to these they are no longer "good"

don't look to bad at all........ but look at your picture...see the little triangle on the sidewall. That is telling you were to look for the Tread Wear Indicator If you follow the little arrow or triangle thingie to the other side of the tread block...about an inch in on the part of the tire that touches the road You should see what I am taking about.

hell my friend ran his tires till the bear metal wires were showing... was i afraid to get in his car, hell yes.. people say till you see the head of lincolns head on a penny but then i think thats too much. just use common sense.. run it till its almost bald. well depending on the area, doesnt rain here much so its not a really big deal.
