Big rims in chicago...

Im thinking about getting 17" motegi MR-7s, they look great, but, i saw someones fixed up civic with some nice 18" konig verdicts.... now, anything not 18 just looks small.... but 18s wouldnt last a week riding on the swisscheese we call roads..... anyone in chicago have any problesm wiht 17 or 18 inch rims??? i dont wanna have them and then f....k them up the next week.. ne stories or advice???

Depends on the tire profile too. I have 45s, but I'm VERY attentive of the road ahead. Don't drive fast on unfamilier roads, don't follow the car ahead of you too closely, bla bla bla. You just gotta be careful, that's all.

had no problems with my 18s in chicago. you just got to pay attention to the road.

I had 215/35/18 in Detroit and it was horrible. I reccomend at least a 40 series tire if you want any comfort.
