racing tires on Si rims

racing tires on Si rims

hey ppl, what's a good size drag radial/street racing tire to put on my 2000 Si rims? the rims are 15's. i was thinking of the nitto 555R the available sizes from the site are 275/60/15 and 275/50/15... so which is better? mucho thanx...

Well to start with, a 275/**/15 tire isn't going to even come close to fitting on a 15x6 wheel.

The 275mm monsters that you mentioned are made to go on the back of rear wheel drive cars with rims that are 7" to 9" wide. I think Nitto has one more available size in 15" made for front drivers: 205/45-R15 in the NT-555R. That size is on the Nitto web site although i didn't notice it at Discount Tire.

If you don't go with that, then BFG has the new G-Force drag radials in 205/50-15 & 225/50-15 size for front drives (See Tire Rack web site if you want to look at pictures or specs)
