16 or 17" rims
im about to order some rims and i want some opinions on which rim size i should get. Im leaning towards 17", but alot of my friends are saying i should get 16's. What do you guys think?
i was going to get 17's and i got 18's. go with 18's man. i would of have gotten 19's but i want my car slammed.
but i would go with 17's if thats what you want. 16's are small.

16's are good if the roads suck, but they aren't gonna be much bigger than stock. You'd also have a tough time stuffing bigger brakes into them. I'd go with 17's. If they're running ITR's (in Japan) with 17" rims and 45 series tires, I should think the combo works well. That's what I'm planning on doing....

I had 16"s and hated them so the 16's are on my hatch and I got 17's on the 2001 with 215/45 Toyos and love it. I am not big on the real low profiles though cause I like to drive my car on the pothole filled Michigan roads
id say go with 17's...if ur stuck between 16's and 17's...i got 17's w/ 205-45-17's and i have goldline springs...its a really good drop and the roads suck in va..so id get 45 series tires with 17's.thats just my $.02

Definately go with 17s. Coz that'll be a big aesthetic difference that will look nice without the clearance/rubbing/camber problems that arise pretty often with 18s on our cars. Not that you won't ever rub or anything with 17s, but it won't be as bad. 16s isn't worth it IMO coz thats only 1" bigger than stock. For that kind of money you could get some HX wheels or something along those lines which will cost a lot less money.
I went with 17s, i ran out of money too I wished i got 16s (because of cost) until i saw them on the car and now. I wish I had enough for 18s
But i love my gunmetal mr7's they are tight..

I would go 17" if your roads will handle it, 16" to me is way too stock for me. If you have the cash to go for the 17" I would get more rubber 215/45 but I just hate small profile tires

Vnlilman - what profile tires do you have? Coz right now I'm debating on whether I should get 17s or 18s. The 17s would have a 45 profile tire (215/45/17), and the 18s would have a 40 (225/40/18). You have no camber problems?

sorry, i didnt see this till now...
i have 215-40-18. 225-40-18 might be a little too thick/wide. your not going to have camber problems with just rims, but you might when lowering your car. i have neuspeed sports with no camber kit(although i think i should get them). if you do want a camber thats within spec, you might have to roll your fenders.

I agree. I like the way the FP Civic looks and those come with 16" rims and lowered almost an inch.
