questions about valve stems
questions about valve stems
ok, i'm not even sure what they are, but i'm guessing the valve stems are the little tubes that go from the tire through the wheel, so you can fill it up with air. is that right? and the valve stem cap is the part you twist off? is there an advantage to having chrome vs. rubber valve stems, or is it just for looks? and my last question, rubber valve stems usually come with tires when you buy them or do you have to buy them separately? ok thanks if anyone answers any of these questions.

Yeah, the valve stems are the little tubes. Doesn't matter what they are made of, they just put air in tire. Some rims have them integrated into the design so it's not sticking out. The cap is the part that twists off. If you have your tires mounted somewhere, they have to but the stems in, otherwise there is no way to put air in the tire.
