Advice between these 2 rims

Your choices:

1) Rota Slipstreams - They only go to 16's, but they are $500 shipped for a set. They weigh 13.5 lbs.

2) Rota Attacks - I can get 17's here, for only $550 shipped for a set. They weigh 16.5 lbs though.

These prices are through Jaydm.com I want gunmetallic rims, I think they look good on a black civic. I plan on getting Kumhos, I hear they are better than Yokohamas. If you think that combo sucks, give me a reason why. I'm open to suggestions. Also, both of these tires are either 40 or 45 mm offset. Which would be better? I don't want to trip over my tires when I'm 5 yards away from my car.

Unfortunately, I am not going to put these on my car for awhile, not until I get springs and shocks and put them all on at the same time. Buying shocks will be hard to swallow, $550 for Koni yellows. That pisses me off, I am getting that last. Your help here would be cool.

I put 17,000 miles on my car in about a year, you tell me! The roads here are pretty smooth, there's very few rough patches around here.

The argument I'm making about these rims is that 16's are the highest you can go and not slow you down. 16's are more for go and 17's are more for show. Would I see a difference, as far as looks?
