Question about 19's
I know you can have 19x7.5 and not really have to worry about rubbing, but what about 19x8? I really want the Axis Neo's but they only come in 19x8. Can I get them and not have to worry that much about rubbing. I have Ground Control coilovers so I can raise it.

I sent an email to acealloywheel.com and they said that the 19 x 8 would fit. There is a guy here on this site who has 19 x 8 and he says they fit without rubbing and that a 225-40 would fit on a 19 without it being dropped that low. I sent him an email let me see if he replied.
Here is the message I sent him:
Hey what's up? I was looking at your pics in
7thgencivic.com and its says you have 19 x 8 inch
wheels. I thought 19x7.5 was the biggest and widest
wihtout rubbing. How did you get them to fit? Do
they rub at all? Will they go good with a 225-35
instead of the 215-35? Do you think that a 225-40
would fit? I don't want to have such a small tire
since Houston has a lot of bad streets. BTW what
offset are your rims? I am going to be buying 19s
soon.
Here is his reply:
i thought they wouldn't fit either, but i took a chance. if they didn't fit at the shop, then i would've exchanged for something else. the only thing was that when the car is jacked up, the rear wheels are actually touching the wheel wells, but when lowered to the ground, it eventually spreads out further. and no rubbing at all, and i even have it lower than in the pics i put in my profile. i had eibach prokits in those pics, but now i got eibach sportline.. and still no rubbing. i think 225/40 would work only if u didn't lower your car more than an inch or so because part of my back tires were kinda tuckin under the fender. i know what u mean about bad streets, cause i can feel the bumps more than my stocks right now. don't remember the offset of the rims right now, but hope this bit of info helps you. peace. jon

i think it depends on the tire, not the actual width of the rim. and 225-40-19 is WAY TOO THICK. if you want 19s, go with 215-35-19, even then the tires are .7" bigger then stock. 225-40-19 is almost 2" bigger then stock which is a really big no no. you might not have any fender gap but your car is going to be way up in the air. i wouldnt even go with 215-40-19. i say if your worried about badd roads and such, stay away from 19s... just go with 215-40-18s. having 40 series tires on 19s is just way too big even if it is 215-40-19.
