If you have OEM tires...OEM pads..the tires give out before the breaks do..if you hav esome nice sticky tires....then have fun..both are great torture tested proven brake pads....go with the cheaper one..
i have heard from people with the green stuff that they tend to squeak.. it could be because they installed it wrong, but grey and i have the AEM ones and ours don't squeak one bit.. fyi..

I'll attest to that one...I put in a pair of EBC brakepads in the front (green stuff)...and the squeak like mad! I had them put in, so I know it's not my fault, and he did put that break grease to help prevent it too...
Your question really requires a little more information about what your general usage is going to be for your car... But here are points to consider for different uses you might encounter:
-- If you plan to just do regular daily driving, go with the AEMs if you want something with a little more grip but easy on your stock rotors with light dust and little to no noise. I have them for my car and they perform well even on the track with my stock rotors. Altho they have definately bitten into the rotors due to my heavy braking there. AEM's pads really aren't much more improved over the stock, except for their dust output.
-- If you plan on using them to autox and do some open tracking, you should consider the EBC GreenStuff pads. Yes, they will squeak some. Partly because they are new and have not settled in yet... partly they are made with a little more agressive materials. This is a small price to pay for the improved braking. And the GreenStuff should offer greatly improved braking times. (Your tires will give out before they do in most situations.)
-- If you are serious about your open tracking and autox, you should get yourself a set of good rotors like EBC's slotted rotors for our cars. Then get a set of EBC RedStuff pads for when you do open tracking especially. Don't bother with big brake kits and expensive caliper upgrades, instead spend your money on a set of good rotors. You will wear those big rotors out just the same as regular ones, and they are much more expensive to replace.
Don't let anyone tell you that you need new calipers or a big brake kit for your car unless you want show. Because a set of good solid regular rotors will provide the same stopping power at half the price. Our cars do not have the power or weight to require such large rotors and it's really just overkill unless you like the looks.
Hope this helps.

Hey, I've been reading Car & Driver, and they were testing some aftermarket brakes on the Subaru Impreza WRX. They had Brembos, AEMs, Baer, etc.. but the best bang for the buck seems to be just simple Pad upgrade from STOPTECH (www.stoptech.com). It seemed to have increased the braking performancing substantially, almost matching Brembo cross drilled rotors. They also tried it with ABS off, and it locked up less than stock.
I did a quick search on their website... any news on when they will release one for our Civics?
