Brake caliper question
Brake caliper question
So I was just wondering if the calipers are different sizes between a DX and a LX? I have a set of 14 inch rims I want to put on but they won't fit on my front wheels so I'm trying to figure out what I can do. I MIGHT(can't remember) have EX calipers and brackets on my car but they are the same size as my old ones so it shouldn't matter. Does anyone think I can grind off at little of my brackets to make them fit? They don't hit the back of the caliper while rotating, they don't even slide into my studs which is why I think it's just the bracket hitting. I know it's not the safest so I don't need to hear that please, just curious.

04 LX sedan, gents. OP's profile has the info filled out
edit: BUT, to answer your question, did a part number cross reference between an 04 LX sedan (what you have), 02 EX coupe (what I had), and 05 DX coupe (checked this for redundancy's sake), LX/EX have the same part numbers 45018-S5D-A00 and 45019-S5D-A00 for front right and left, respectively. 01-05 DX has a slightly different part number with 45018-S5D-L00 and 45019-S5D-L00 for front right and left, respectively. Couldn't tell you actual differences, though.
More importantly, regarding your clearance issues, what are the specs on those 14's you're trying to put on? Moreso the offset of said rims

Re: Brake caliper question
DX does come with 14" wheels stock while EX/LX had 15". Maybe the EX/LX calipers are slightly larger and therefore the 14" wheel can't clear them. I've never paid attention to how much caliper clearance there was when I had the stock 15"s on my EX.
