Will my 17s fit And what tires to buy
I just Ordered rims and did not look here before doing so, I figured 17's would fit no problem its a 2005 civic ex, the rims came in today Now I'm not sure what size tire to get or what brand (maybe a price range too). Just wondering if they would fit as well. heres 2 pictures

Re: Will my 17s fit And what tires to buy
I would go with 215/45/17 tires.
With 7" wide rims, they should fit just perfectly.
I have Falken 512's in that size.
Why get Chrome rims?
I would have just dipped your SE wheels black...

Thanks for the reply, they are alloy.(I like shiny!) My friend and I both agreed, they look good! I want something different as well because where I live, there are civics all over and all there rims look the same to me, I figured If I don't like them I can just resell them. Also I had trouble finding 4 lug wheels that I acually liked.
Re: Will my 17s fit And what tires to buy
Nice looking wheel. I had some Voxx wheels for about 7 years. If you want them to last try not to use them in the winter. After 7 years of summer and winter driving mine looked like crap. I also had 205/40/17 tires so there was a lot of curb rash from the lovely tri state area roads. I'd go with 45 series if you could. I sold my Voxx's on Craigslist for $175 after I got my HFP's.
Re: Will my 17s fit And what tires to buy
I have gone both ways with 17's here's my .02 based on my experience
Stock height - 215/45
Lowering springs (1.5" - 2") - can go either 215/45 or 215/40 or 205/40
Coils, I was dropped about 3.25" and HAD to go with 205/40
with 17s and the 45 sidewall you will feel (maybe) a difference in pickup (slower) based the slightly larger tire diameter and more rolling resistance. If you go with the 40 sidewall it will make the overall diameter smaller and fee close to stock. That is what I roll with currently.
I ran into rubbing issues with the 215's when I was slammed but if your not slammed they should be fine. the 40 without being lowered looks stupid cause the rim will be HUGE with a tiny tire and the gap at the fender to tire will also be huge.

Another adv of buying it at a tire shop (instead of online) is that you will usually get free tire rotation and flat repair.
Most online places charge shipping, which is the cost of mounting and balancing at a shop. So why have to pay for shipping and mount/balance ?
I suggest you shop around locally and weight your options
Re: Will my 17s fit And what tires to buy
[quote=sl33pyriceboi;4632668]The advantage of buying it at a tire shop is that they usually discount you on the mount and balance. Sometimes it's free. But if you just take your tires to a shop, they usually charge about $50 for a set of 4.
I bought the tires online, and the wheels , they were free shipping cause of the website I listed earlier I think that's a America thing! I got falken tires no discount and just have to get them mounted and balanced, then I should be good! I shopped online because there are not many rim suppliers around where I live that I know of and 4 lug was not easy to find what I liked! thanks a lot though!!! I will post pictures
sorry I read rims and tires!, Your thing about tires is pretty accurate haha sorry!

look good. now you just need to lower it properly, and paint your front lip. then your done. dont screw up a good looking car!
Re: Will my 17s fit And what tires to buy
Bagel - Those rims don't look half bad... I heard to stay away from Voxx but you picked a decent style IMO
for 17x8 would u guys recommend 205/40? I'm looking for the right look (flushed but not "hella flush" with enough tire to minimize curbage.
I'm dropped on buddy club n+ coils and will get rear fenders rolled.

They are already low profile, AND will stretch.
I would probably go 215/40. Depending on the offset.
Says the guy who owns 47 different calipers.
Re: Will my 17s fit And what tires to buy
depends on how low you are and offset of the wheels. I'm going to be running 17x8 with 205/40 because I know with any bigger tire my fronts are going to rub
Re: Will my 17s fit And what tires to buy
hoping for a +35 offset so I don't need spacers. The roads here can get a bit rough, not too many potholes but a few here and there, and I just want to take extra precaution as not to ding up my wheels. Is 205/40 a pretty common tire? 205/45?
