15's on 01 civic
15's on 01 civic
I am looking at a set of 15" rims for my civic. The car currently has 14's with P195/70SR14 tires. The 15's have p195/55/r15, but the seller is not sure of the offset. Will these fit without rubbing?
Re: 15's on 01 civic
The the other posters said, they will be fine.the 15" rims you looking at should not be a problem!
Just make sure the offset isnt too low. take a look at this website, it will help:

Also,I am posting a similar issue with my 17x7.5 rims, and with 205/50/17 tires. My size rims should not rub so you have nothing to worry about with your 15"

Re: 15's on 01 civic
I found that these rims will throw off my speedo reading by 5.3%. I really don't want to throw off my millage. I am looking at a set of rims at canadian tire they are Touren TR3 15x7 with a 40mm offset. I can run 195/65/15 tires without throwing off my speedo. I was wondering would these tires mount properly to these rims? Also I am guessing that the stock steelie rim offset is 45mm with 6 inch width? The car currently has 195/70/14 tires on it. I am not exactly how the willtheyfit link works could someone please check to see if this new set up will work?

well how about 205/60/15? those are the only sizes I can run to keep the rolling radius the same. I am not looking for the best looking rim set up, I just want summer tires and rims so I don't have to change over winter tires every year

they pretty much look the same because the aspect ratio (middle number) compensates for the extra width of the tire.
your tires/rims will look stock, because thats how big stock rims/tires are.

Thats fine I don't mind a stock looking rim, they are still better looking than the steel 14's on the car with hubcaps. I can get 195/65's used in good shape. I am a noob when it comes to rims so I still have a few questions.
1) will the 195/65R15 tires fit properly to the 15x7 rims?
2)I am not really sure how http://www.willtheyfit.com/ works, will the new rims work? Old rims are 195/70R14 tires with stock steel rims (assuming they are 14X6 with 45mm offset) Is this a good assumption or does someone have the correct offset for stock steel rims?

1. 195/65/15 will fit fine on your 15x7 rim.
2. these new 15" rims you put on will be fine. unless you get some crazy offset like +10mm offset then you are ok. +45 is well in spec.
on a side note, while 195/65/15 tires will fit fine, they 205/60/15 will fit better on the 7" width rim. but there isnt TOO much difference.
