Talking Boring Friday, Painted Calipers

So after school, decided to paint my calipers red. Looks nice in my opinion.
I know this post is stupid, but i haven't been active on the forums.
Took about an hour and a half.

Looks good.

Painting calipers is cheap and it makes a big difference.

Wow excellent job. I'd prefer black, but my point is how well you did painting them.

Yeah, that came out nice! I got red on my drums, but the red wasn't as bright as I'd like it to be...came out a little dark. Yours are perfect!

They are Honda Fit OEM wheels if I'm not mistaken.

You should, it is a cheap and nice looking upgrade.
Thank you all for your replies

& i do not know what rims they are, just know they are stock 2005 rims.

@ Matt300, i got the caliper painting kit. Came with the heat resistant paint, caliper cleaners and a brush. Bought it for around 30 bucks.

Nice, did ya mask off and spray?
Or did you remove the caliper all together?

Those aren't standard stock wheels, I believe they're an HFP dealer option.

Re: Boring Friday, Painted Calipers

I think they're stock. my next door neighbor has them on her fit... They're first generation stock though. They have thinner spoked wheels now.

If I remember right the HFP ones for the fit are like 8 spoke gunmetal glory. I was drooling over them on H and A wishing I could get them for my car haha. they were like smaller versions of the HFP rims for the 06-11 civic si

maybe I will after all sometime. half the reason I didn't want to do it was because I realllllly didn't want to take the calipers off to do it lol. I guess as long as you're careful with masking that's just as good.

Re: Boring Friday, Painted Calipers

fit rims look great, I've wanted a set for a long time for my winter tires, they never come up for sale though, so much better than em1 wheels.

Re: Boring Friday, Painted Calipers

They really do. They would be an absolutely fantastic set of winter wheels. I've seen a couple sets pop up in my local craigslist, but I just don't have the money because everyone selling them knows what they're worth.

I'm waiting for someone to post a set really cheap after they go and buy some horrible les schwab aftermarket wheels and don't think they're stock wheels are worth anything haha.

if you are patient, just mask everything and take your time brushing. It took me and my friend 1 and half hour to take out the front wheels, clean, dry, paint 2 layers, and put the wheels back.

Something productive to do when you have time on a saturday or sunday.

Re: Boring Friday, Painted Calipers

Nice! I would only do red if I had disc brakes all around though.
I did this a while ago, but I masked and sprayed with high gloss black furniture epoxy.
By the way, I'm too deistracted by the fact that you own a Lotus Elise to even care about this thread anymore, lol
