Re: what size tires are u running with 17s?
My preferred size is 215/45-17. Only reason I'm rockin' 205/50s right now is because that's the only size they had for severe weather
edit: I don't care if 215/45's make the rims "look" smaller. I stick with 215/45s for the performance aspect (messes with speedometer the least, comfier ride than a smaller sidewall)

u can either use 205/45/17 or 215/40/17 to be within OEM spec.
remember the middle number (side wall) is a RATIO to the width of the tire.
so for example, a 205/45/17 will have a WAY smaller sidewall than a 215/45/17

For me 215/45 was the closest to OEM spec for me.
Threw my speedometer off by only .6%.. Albeit wider, but the speedometer liked it the best.. and I like having more rubber on the ground coupled with enough air to make it a cushy ride.

because stock tire for the 01-03 is 185/65/15
but on the 04-05 is 195/60/16. and both car's have the same speedo ratio.

Re: what size tires are u running with 17s?
for a stock 185/65-15,
205/45-17 yields .8% fast (i.e. actual-59.6, indicated 60)
215/45-17 yields .6% slow (i.e. actual-60.4, indicated 60)
borderline negligible, yes.

stock size for 05 are 195/60/15. yea i was lookin at some 215/45 BFGoodrich G-Force Sport they got a good deal on them at tire rack.
but 215/45 and 205/45 there is only .17th of a inch difference in sidewall height. so im sure there isnt much of a difference in ride quality. which one would look better on a 7in wide rims? 215/45? any one got pic?

Re: what size tires are u running with 17s?
215 with a 45 side looks a lil too fat and doesnt look as good as the 40 profile. but that just my .02
i prefer it running a tad smaller. plus with a 40, you will have less side wall flex...but all that is really negligible unless u are really pushing it on the track.
plus, for me (if u ask me), running a 215/40 will reduce the rotational mass significantly. remember, the further the weight is on the tire, the more energy it requires to spin that tire.
i went from a 215/40/17 to 205/50/16 (got stickier tires when i went with the 16) and the difference was night and day with acceleration, handling, and braking.

Well im not running at the track. Im going more for looks and ride quality so that y im going to go with the 215/45.
Riceboy what u lowered on in that pic s-tech? anyone know whats the stock ride height? i just put on some tokico blues and the rear looks higher now.
Thanks for the pic like the look.

im riding on koni yellows + eibach ground controls. 4" lower than stock height (measured next to my friend's 03)
these are on 205/45/17 tho.
my ride now:
replaced that silly spoiler with a CF trunk
Re: what size tires are u running with 17s?
Well i got my rims used so i didnt have much of a choose on the size. Its what i could find that where in good shape and at a good price.
I want the best ride quality with what i have to work with.
