Enkei wheels?
Enkei wheels?
I'm planning on buying a set of wheels and tires. Still deciding on the tires, but I think I made up my mind with the wheels. The wheels are the 18x7.5 Enkei Evo 5 in Hypersilver. They will be going on a rallye red em2.
I just want to know if anyone else has Enkei wheels, if they would recommend them. Like their build quality, finish, scratch resistance, dent resistance, etc...
If you have other brands you would like to recommend, but are in the same price range and are 18", please do so

Re: Enkei wheels?
Enkei wheels are great. They are affordable, and durable. I have a set of rsf2's that have never chipped, or faded. Enkei makes some light weight wheels too from japan.
Re: Enkei wheels?
I like the Enkei brand but I was a bit disappointed that the paint chipped easily where my center ring is suppose to go and one of my wheel's clear coat started to flake off after one year. Could have been that these where the cheaper Enkei model. (OR52)
Re: Enkei wheels?
That's something to think about. Thanks for your input buddy..
I just have a couple questions for you? did you wax your wheels and clean them on a regular basis? and is the car garaged or is kept outside.
Thanks again.
Re: Enkei wheels?
I wax my wheels once a year, and the car is sometimes outside and sometimes inside. Outside more when its in the summer.
Also the paint around the center ring chipped the first time I got them, and I took that ring off and never put it on again.

Enkei's ftw. My rs7's are great, love em. Recommendation: I agree with above, no to 18's. I wanted to go 18 myself, but decided 17 was the smarter choice. But, its your car and your choice, this is only my opinion.
Re: Enkei wheels?
I had a set of 16" Enkei OR52's on my old Silver EM2 in anthracite with a polished lip. They looked absolutely fantastic. They even survived when I totaled my car (okay, the clear coat is a little worse for wear but they're still perfectly straight!). My only complaint is that they were heavier than stock and I only found out after I lost the car. I agree w/ the 18" thing though. 18's look no good on these cars. Heck, I think even 17" is a bit much. But to each his own.

I myself am actually what you would refer to as a "Big Baller" therefore I prefer the eighteen inch size. But no 19's. That's just too big, and I think that it makes a car like ours, a civic look funny.
I like 18, but that's max!

Re: Enkei wheels?
That's interesting...last I had read, they were 22lbs or something of the like. And I had steelies originally, but I thought they were still heavier. Guess I must be getting forgetful in my old age.
