Need some help in rim size
Need some help in rim size
I am looking at the Motegi SP10 or Konig Ktune rims to put on my stock 2003 civic LX.
The stock rim was a steel rim with cover and the tire size is 185 65 R15.
I have a set of all-seaon Michelin Harmony used for about 2 years and still got some tread left, a set of Blizzak Revo1 used only for 1 winter. They have been sharing the steel rim and I starting to thinking that I might better spend a short term cost to get a set of alloy rims and mount the all-seaon on it and leave the Blizzak on the steelie, this way I can cut off the long term cost of going to auto shop to swap tire every season change.
So my question are,
1. Should I go for 15 or 17?Should I use the Harmony for 15 or should I go for something bigger like 17" with new tires?
2. Does 17 look weird without dropping the car? I don't think I have any plan to lower the car at this very moment, because I heard that comes with a lot of side costs and work.
3. I heard aftermarket rim always look smaller than stock rim even with the same size, so if I get 15 for those, will they look even worse than 15" stock alloy rim?
4. If I really gonna get the 17, will I get a way rougher ride with the lower profile tire?
5. I checked and my plus 2 tire size should be 215 45 R17. With the 30mm increase in tire surface, will that affect the gas gasmilage a whole lot?
I know my question are not really performance related, but I really hope someone can still help me out from this forum. Thanks.
Motegi SP10

Konig Ktune

This is a civic that look very similar to mine, but this is NOT mine, and I still have the stock steelie
