New Tires + Rim Size Confusion Help
New Tires + Rim Size Confusion Help
So im planning on getting a set of 16"s Rota Slipstream and I have a few questions... on the rota website I see alot of different 16x sizes I have a 4 door 01 sedan. Which is the right size for me to give me a good look? (im running tokico blues + tein stech) Because I dont want to use spacers etc..
16 x 6.5 +26/+40/+45 4h x 100
16 x 7.0 0/+40/+45 4h x 100
16 x 7.0 +40/+45 4h x 108
16 x 7.0 +35/+40/+45 4h x 114.3
16 x 7.0 +40/+45/+48 5h x 100
16 x 7.0 +40/+45/+48 5h x 114.3
16 x 8.0 +20/+34/+40/+48 4h x 100
16 x 8.0 +40/+45/+48 4h x 114.3
16 x 8.0 +48 5h x 100
16 x 8.0 +48 5h x 114.3
and im planning on getting Falken 512's 16" for the rubber, does it matter what size or any specific size/offset dependent on the rim or tire? What are your recommendations? thanks
also anyone know if I can take the Rota center caps off?

Second one 16 x 7, +45 offset. You can get +40, but depending on your tire size, you may rub. So +45 to be on the safe side.

Re: New Tires + Rim Size Confusion Help
so everyone is in agreement on 45 not lower than 42 :P
so the one I would get is 16 x 7.0 +40/+45/+48 5h x 100
what size tire would it be for a perfect fit? (+45 is the offset I will be getting to avoid rubbing)
but would 40 or 45 give my car a more lower look? or wouldnt really make much of a difference?

Offset doesn't affect how low the rims sit on the car. Offset affects how close or far the rims sit next to your fender.
Also you can get away with +40 offset and still be okay, but it depends on your setup. Everyone's setup is different, so there's no guarantee fit. However, +45 will reduce your chances of rubbing on the fender versus a +40 rim.
Also do some research man. Go on google and read about "bolt patterns", "offset", "tire size calculator", "rim size", and learn your stuff. I know it sounds a little rude, but we can't teach you everything. Learn some things on your own, and then ask a question that you have at least some knowledge on.

First off, you can't use a 5x100 bolt pattern. Our cars only have 4 bolts.

you are only dropped on s techs so with a 40 or a 45 offset its not going to matter. you wont rub...
heres my ride with 16's and a 40 offset... lowered 1.7" all around so thats pretty close to s tech drops... still have a little gap between the fenders and wheel

quick question, are you running rotas? if so what Honda center caps fit in rota rims? i just got circuit 8's and need center caps
Re: New Tires + Rim Size Confusion Help
i got 16x7's 35mm offset. ill post up pics of them later. no rubbing with rolled fenders and -1.5 all around camber. as long as you dont slam your ride. as of now, ive got to tuck and a finger gap all around on Tein SS-P's. I was FLUSH with my koni/gc's last year but every little bump made me rub.
Re: New Tires + Rim Size Confusion Help
Guys, I'm having the same confusion.... I would like to buy some ROTA wheels 16X7 e35(I guess that's the offset) and put 215/50/16 tires. I am new in this and I have no clue if the offset of these wheels will work with the tires that I'm trying to buy. Is 35 offset ok, or should I just buy some with 40-45 offset? Please guys help! Thanks
