205/60-15 Tires on OEM rim

I have a sweet deal on some 205/60-15 tires.

Will i encounter any problems mounting them on the stock rims ??

Thanks

I believe 205 is the appropriate size for x7, and the stocks are x6 I believe. So the tires in question would work I'm sure, but would be beefy.

i think the stock rims are x6.5. but its probably different if you have steelies vs. alloys.

i would suggest you get 205/55/15. there will be no problems mounting that on your rims, but like previously said, it'll be a little beefy.

The stock steel rims are 15x6.

And 205's fit just right on my friends x7's, with the tire just touching over the lip. So they'll be think (wideness) on stock wheels

ive seen a member here with 205/60/15 on some alloys and it looked really beefy and thick, which looked ugly IMO. i would suggest to go with a 55 series.

what OEM rims do you have?

I'd be worried about the width more, since 205 is a typical x7 tire

^you're right, i think 195/60/15 would be more appropiate. cheaper than 55 series and available almost anywhere.

205 is generally better than a 195 wide tire but the OP didnt give enough info in what he or she was looking for in a tire. i figured price as he said he can get that set for a sweet deal.

check out this tire calculator for speedo info, Tire size calculator

ok 205/60/15 is gonna be way too big of a sidewall...205/55/15 have the same sidewall height of a 195/60/15...going from 195/60/15 to a 205/50/15 wont mess with your speedo much at all...mine hasnt been affected by more than 2-3 mph tops...all oem 15inch alloys from civics are 15x6 not 15x6.5 the 15 inch steelies are 15x6 also...like it was said earlier 205 sidewall tires can fit on 5.5-7.5 inch wheels...and the largest you can go on a 6 inch wheel is 225...trust me i sell and work with tires everyday so i know some stuff...not all but a lot

I know it would fit, and since he's on OEM's I'd hardly say he's considering performance, and looking for as close to an oem fit as possible. In which case 205 is silly

Because I like oem sized tires on oem wheels lol. They'll fit, and they'll buldge.

thats a nice tire and size but hell of an change from a 60 series isnt it? if i wasnt worried about tire calculations, id go with an 205/55 series...its inbetween OEM spec and performance side. ive seen few integras and civics with 205/50/15 with not much of a drop with big wheel gaps. but if your looking something closer to the OEM specs, go with 195/60/15.

u act like its the end of the world if they use this...fyi 205/50 or 205/55 is commonly used on 15x6. theres nothing wrong with it. the worst thing that can ever happen if u use a series like that on oem rims is sidewall flex..but if u get certain tires, it eliminates that

well heres my 2 cents on the 205 deal on stock 15' wheels

ive been running 205/50/15's on my STOCK STEELIES for about 9 months now and i love it..

im lowered with goldline lowering springs for the rsx and tokico struts for the 01 civic... and ive ran those tires for a while now..

i have no camber kit on the front or rear , got 2 alignments done after lowering it because the first place did my alignment and put the car on there with the wheel turn sideways and aligned it for that.. then the second place fixed it ..

but i run a Dayton Daytona HR 205/50/15 and i havent had any problems.. my speedo reads about 2-4 mph faster than im going once i get past 85 ... but before 85 its dead on...

whenever i get home ill update this thread with pics of the civic and show you..

i think it looks hot having that 205 back there from a back shot ... my car CANNOT drive over a speed bump without scraping but i love it that low ... but the stock 15's with 205's with work and IMO is hawt

but thats my 02... call me a ricer or whatever ..but a 205 is alot better than a 185 ... or a 195..
