I'm the one who mentioned Toyo tires are crap for tread life. For one I had FZ4s on my Civic, yeah they grip for oh...6 months then no tread left. I also had a set of Toyo's on my newly acquired Ridgeline (brother's choice in tire) and same thing..CRAP!
I replaced the Crap with Falken and felt they were not even comparable. Falken's are a better buy - bottom line..

However, if you feel Falkens are better, then stick with it. I'm not saying Toyo is better or worse than Falken. My point was to say that its tire model specific, and not tire brand specific.

FZ4 sucked in both aspects of grip and tread life. FZ4 was replaced with the proxes 4's. The proxes 4's do a better job in both aspects. I'm not sure what comes on the ridgeline, but I'm pretty sure Honda didn't put good tires on there. The only Honda that comes with good tires stock, is the s2000. Every other Honda comes with crappy tires, no matter what brand they use.

Rule of thumb: If you're not after high speed or high grip records, then any major brand tire within your price range will work work fine.
If you're after grip then choose tires with lower trear wear rating, higher trear wear rating will give you longer tire life with a bit less grip.
Something 300 or more should last 20k mi without burnouts and without superfast countinuos takeoffs.
Since I see that everything's been answered it is upto you to make decision and let us know what it was.
That is all.
Good luck.

falken all the way. they are the best tire on the market imo. but i also work at a tire store and we have a special deal with falken so we try to seelt he shiznit out of em. but seriously, falkens with rotation every 5000 miles will last 30-40000 miles and there really not that expensive of a tire for the quality.
man im sad now i just bought some toyo's for my rota's and they ride like crap
I just burnt my tongue

shoulda gotten falkens...i trust falkens...i only run azenis of course but i've so far sold about 15-20 sets of falken ziex ZE-512 and Falken FK-452's and azenis rt-615...they ride great, the ziex have good tire wear and last very very long and i get them for cheap...locally to los angeles of course sorry for u outa towners
I had falken ziex before, wasnt too happy with them. Wore out extremely fast.
The performance was almost the same as my stock bridgestone potenzas.
My next set is going to be kumho 711s, hopefully those last longer than the falkens.

the 711's perform ok and thread is ok, but be prepared for a lot of road noise after the thread starts to thin out a bit.
I'm not sure how the 712 wears, but I ran a few sets of 711 and I would never buy them again. My car has not been lowered, and is in alignment and both sets of 711 cupped badly. If I had to buy a set of Kumho's I might get the ASX series.
