Rep Power: 296 Purchasing new tires for my Volks
Going to be making a purchase in the next few weeks and i've already picked the tire out, Toyo T1R's, just gotta get a size. I'm not running a 215/35/18 anymore, just isn't gonna cut it, not enough tire there and i wanna protect my $2500 Volks from getting scratched.
I was thinking about either 215/40/18 or 225/40/18, anyone running either of these set ups? Any rubbing?

Rep Power: 296 Invest in a tire that has the rim protector feature...its where theres extra rubber in the area where tire meets rim so you'll scratch rubber, not metal.
If you get any of the sizes you are looking at, theres a good chance you'll rub and will have to A) raise the car or B) change alignment settings or C) a combo of both.
The 40 represents aspect ratio so the tire will be bigger than you think.

Rep Power: 296 The Toyo T1R has the rim protector on it so thats one reason why i chose it. I know how to read the dimensions. a 215/40/18 won't rub. But i was told i would need to roll my rear fenders if i run the 225/40

Rep Power: 296 If it helps at all, with 0 camber all around I rub front and back riding on 215/40/17s. Rims are 17 x 7 I believe.
That didn't happen with the 205/40/17s I had before.
I have it set at -1.5 to -2.0 camber all around now and got rid of the rubbing.
The rears barely clear the fenders saving me the hassle of rolling my fenders.
I'm dropped with about 1 finger gap all around.

Rep Power: 296 i plan to have 0 gap, and have the front tires tucked just a tad like 1/4" of inch. and 0 gap in the back, so i'll just do 215/40/18

Rep Power: 296 Honda Korn, well thing is, they come with Gold Volk Racing Limited Edition Stickers, but i asked around to see if i could get new volks stickers, i was told they are $40 a pop, so that would mean $160 for just stickers, and you have to take a picture of the sticker damaged and send it to Rays and they decided if you get more. lol, its a damn racket.

Rep Power: 0 Yeah they are VERY stingy with the stickers and it costs more for stickers for Volks than some Rota wheels. You are getting quality with the Volks though.

Rep Power: 296 Thanks guys, yea $2500 for wheels is crazy but eh o well they are def worth it. I'm lookin at swapping right now, thought about the k24 but AZNboySRFR talked me into the k20. So if all goes right, i should be swapped at the start of summer.
