Nitro-nize?

Dont think anyone outside of Michigan or Ohio will know about this or maybe theres something similar a tire/wheel store is doing in your area. Anyways, this place called Belle Tire is doing this thing "Nitro-Nize your tires". Im basically wondering if anyone has heard of it or even done it to their tires. What they do is put Nitrogen in your tires instead of just regular air.

The salesman was telling me all of these benefits compared to regular air. Like leaks out less, better gas mileage because of constant air pressure, lighter, and some more things I cant remember right now. Plus he said that he would do it for free if I bought some new tires from them.

Has anyone heard of this or done it to their tires?

Straight nitrogen doesn't expand as much as air when heated, it also won't oxidize your tires. But unless you have the ability to use straight nitrogen all the time, don't start using it.

Sort of. Use it in race cars if you care a lot, if not, then just use air. You don't want to be mixing the two and creating a half way inbetween gas.

EMTwannabe is an unknown quantity at this point
It's only benificial if you can get over 98% nitrogen. We have it in my shop and the best I've seen it was 97.5% straight off the air line. Factor in the air that is already in a tire prior to inflation and it's just not pure enough to work. If you have nitro and have to fill your tire with air it's not going to do much harm. Ambient air is 70% notrogen after all.
