Rep Power: 252 suggestion on tires for 18's
im wanting to get a set of 18" rims that have a 7.5" width and stuck on what tires are ideal for me and my needs. first off, id like to know if their is a drastic ride comfort difference between 215/40/18 and the 215/35/18? the 35 profile is cheaper but is it THAT bad for daily driver use? anyone here run 35 series and regret it?
i was looking at the falken ziex 512, khumo ecsta supra 712, some brand called nexen 3000 thats sold on ebay, or something else?
wheels will be driven during summer but still see wet roads. mainly highway driving but live in the city, daily driver civic, want to be able to tuck all 4 wheels without rubbing issues (i have coilovers and rear camber kit). life thread is top prority, comfort is second.

Rep Power: 0 Well i have 18's and i have ran both 35 and 40. i ran 35's with both nitto and Dunlop, and now im running BFG g-Force T/A KDW NT 215/40R-18 and i will never go back to 35. If you hit anything or even change lanes it sounds and feels like your riding on the rim.

Rep Power: 264 I'm riding on a set of 18" AXIS Reverbs. Excellent rim. Definately get 18"'s I'm using a 215/35/18 Nitto Neo-Gen and it's frickin awesome. However, I will agree, it sounds like you ride rim every time you hit a bump. I feel like I have less rebound altogether. But, I've never ridden on a 40 or 45 series.

Rep Power: 0 get the 40 series. they are expensive now but you will be saving more money in the long run cuz u wont bent your rims so easily. ive bent a coupe on 35 series and now im switching to 40's
nangkang and hankook make 215/40/18 at a decent price

Rep Power: 325 if you have an 01-03 civic do a 205/40-18
if you have an 04-05 go with a 205/40-18
this size just about matches your stock diameter (assuming that you have an EX). IMO a 35 sidewall is too little to run.
hankook ventus sport K104.
done deal.

Go with 40 series,35 is cool but rides like hell!
Kumho 712s are great dry and wet traction, but wear fast!

Rep Power: 252 i looked on tirerack, 1010tires, vulcantires, and ebay and it seems like the only reasonable tire in 205/40/18 is the toyo proxies 4 which goes for $160/tire.

Rep Power: 325 hmm...well you may need to do a different size then. as pon55 mentioned above, the kumho ecsta supra 712's are also good tires. i actually had them on my 01 and i loved them then i went to the k104's on my Si and was just as happy.
