Touch up the rims or just buy new rims.

I have a lot of scratches on my rims because of winter. I was wondering if its worth it to retouch up the rims. I don't know how much it would be to fix them. Would it be cheaper to buy new rims.

You should get an estimate from a wheel repair shop...and then go from there..where im from they charge an arm and a leg to repair rims..it mite not be worth repairing and in that case you should buy new ones..but if its just scratches it shouldn't be to bad

Those aren't scratches, thats clearcoat damage and aluminum corrosion. Its because the finish on the wheels is ****. you might be able to get them refinished, it would be cheaper than new rims, but get them stripped and recoated in full or it'll happen again.

Sorry to jack your thread but quick question, what are the markings that are on every rim like the ones in the second pic by the air valve?

One of them is JWL the other is VIA, they "governing bodies" for standards on wheels. its basically saying that the wheels have been tested for load capacity and certified as safe.

That's why you have stock wheels for winter use if you have summer wheels and tires.

Just bring it to a wheel restoration shop instead of spending again on new wheels.
