same tire size, different width rims
i had 215/45/17 tires on a 17x7.5" wide rim (45mm offset/rota subzeros) and i would get rubbing issues on the front inside fenders when lowered 2" or more. the rear was fine if i setted my camber correction a little negative.
id like to know if i were to run the same size tires BUT on a 17x7 (43mm offset/adr concept pro), would i be able to lower more because of that half inch width clerance?

The tire isn't going to get all that much smaller by squeezing it on a smaller rim, and the usual answer for clearance still applies....its not a 100% sure answer.... you won't know until you try it.
Titanium Metallic. You got a problem with that?

Theres actually only about 2/10" of extra clearance because of the difference of offset (2mm less) and it being on a "thinner" wheel. Therefore, I wouldnt expect to lower it much more than you would on a 7.5" wide wheel.

how do i roll my front fenders?
as for the question, it only rubbed when i made hard cornering (maybe due to soft struts?...they were OEM, but now im on konis...maybe that could help reduce the sway movement?). this was on a 1.7"-1.8" drop stance

oh cool.
i also have 215/45/17 tires and rota subzero and i cant stand if it rubs

so im going to ghetto rig a way to make it not rub
oh and rolling your fenders wont stop the rubbing most likely because it was likely rubbing on the inside due to the width and the 45mm offset

I think I might get the same sized rims this summer (17x7.5, +45mm offset). I'm dropped on Tein S.Tech's and worried about rubbing. Do you think getting 215/40 tires instead of 215/45 tires would prevent rubbing?
yah herroherro has a good question there.... im looking at going wiht some 215/40's myself. i was unaware of rubbing issues with the rotas. im saving up for tires as well. but now im worried i went with a bad choice. anybody that can help this, please do. i love my new rims, but i dont wanna screw them or my new tires up because of miscalculations...

^ i know someone with 215/40/17 on subzero with a pro kit drop (~1.4") and he has no rubbing issues

with 16 inch rims and up you will rub on the fender liner if you want take out the fender liner and drop it lower and it won't rub ...LOL i have 17/40/205 and in long run the fender liner got all bus up.. and i had 16/40/205 and still was rubbing and even the stock i was still rubbing the front but the rear was not a problem and my car it low..LOL at 1 time i got stuck on a speed bump..LOL

Man, you guys need to find some better alignment shops. Wider wheels and wider tires than that DO fit under the car. I have first hand knowledge of this. Its all in the alignment.... the old addage applies, if you want it done right, do it yourself I guess. I haven't been to an alignment shithole in years.
^ do all of you hardcore performence handling kind of people do your own alignments?
i was talking to some guy today who goes to the track and all that stuff and he also does his own alignments

I'd wager to say a lot of us do. Its not all that difficult and it makes life easy... especially for people with unregistered cars (trailer to the track) because you can't drive them on the roads. Its not always easy to get an alignment shop to do exactly what you want, especially when its as far out of factory spec as you usually go with it.
For me my biggest concern is ruining a tire or rim. If you guys say this is not an issue than i will feel better. Ive decided to go with 215/40's for the sheer look and the better performance capabilities of a shorter sidewall. If anyone thinks this is a poor idea, please let me know. And if anyone has pics of there wheel/tire combo with 40's and 45's i sure would like to see i can tell the difference.
