Question rims bending

If i were to get 18 in rims with 215-35-18 tires, how succeptable would they be to denting when on a rough road? Will the rim dent when going over a small pothole or a bug bump in the road. Im just wondering, because where i'm from, a few of the roads are not in the nicest of conditions. Thanks

it will have to be a huge crater for them to actually bend and you will have to be going really fast, i have never heard of rims bending but maybe someone has.

if the tire pressure is kept just right they should be fine but if you hit a curb or something they might dent up, it really depends but it would be hard to dent them if they are quality rims, now scratches is a whole different story, those are easy to get if you hit a pothole at a bad angle or run against a curb

also it depends on what size tires....if ur goin with low profiles then u have more of a risk of things getting messed up. i had 205-40-17's and a potholl pinched the sidewall of my tire.

depends on if your going to drop or not also....if not, might as well go with the 215/40s, couldnt hurt. You can even still get a decent drop with those and still not rub.

with 40's on 18's , not as much as you would like , youll scrubb the tires quicker than you would with 35's , as far as the bending , that mainlly happens on the outter lip , but you gotta have like a flat tire goin pretty fast and kill a huge pothole , or a pretty big difference in surface heights
