budget and do you care about altering your speedometer as much?

on a 16x7 rim and grip is most important, id say go with 215/45/16. check out the tire calculator on the site, i cant find it right now.

The Yokohama ES100 tires are a great all around tire, especially for the price. Tire Rack has 'em.

go 16x7, slipstreams, with Toyo T1-S... or Yokohama ES100s. My favorite tires that don't cost too much.

i did the same thing.... they had only been out for a couple of weeks when i bought them (beginning of this summer). All the ppl giving them reviews said good things about it. So i bought 'em. I like them in the beginning, they held down the car nicely... I later realized that they were wearing out so quick! Its the end of the season and my tires are nearly done! I'm going with ES100s or T1-S for next season. My winter tires are back on on both my cars.

If longevity was a requirement, then you should have never looked at the Azenis.... Seriously. you Might, and I mean Might get 15,000 miles out of a set, but Dam what a fun 15,000 miles it would be. :P

I calculated once that with autocross I could destroy a set of the RT-215's in about 5 hours of driving.

But you'd be hard pressed to find a street tire with as much grip. Seriously, its one of the Grippiest street tires you can buy.

I think the moral of the story here is that cheap tires arent good, good tires arent cheap, sticky tires wear fast, and slow wearing tires arent sticky. Figure out what you want to use the tires for, and then look at the treadwear rating for longevity reasons, and manufacturer/price for quality.

Extreme grip and longevity are not two attributes that any one tire can share. You either have a rock that lasts forever with no grip, or a grippy tire that lasts one season.

http://www.wheelselections.com/Hankook_Z212.php

The new Hankook RS-2 R212 has a huge selection of tire sizes in 16", and is supposed to rival the Falken RT-615 and Kumho MX in the MAX performance summer category. Don't expect more than one summer out of them.

FYI, these types of tires are not very good for "show car" with extreme dumps that get "cruised" (driven non-aggressively), as camber will eat them in no time. Camber wear only happens on cars that aren't driven hard. I were the outsides of my tires out faster than the insides in the front (not ENOUGH camber)
