Members with 17's..Question
Simple question:
Has anyone bought 17's and had them perfect with no vibration in the steering wheel? I can't seem to get mine ballanced (rim and tire package) This will be the 3rd ballance job with sticky weights....still shaking at 60+ mph. Is this the nature of the beast? I see all these cars with OEM 17's with no problems....WTF?

I have had issues. One problem i had was a blown oem strut from lowering it. Also putting a strut bar on the front helped alot. Mine still does it but its only over the crappy roads and its very light. Btw the tire has some to do with it too.
Yep the Hankooks baby. I had two sets of H106's - 215/35/18's and now my 205/45/16's
They take a static and dynamic balance. A sticky weight must be used on the inside aswell as weights on the inside lip of the rim. I tried hub rings too and no difference. Most tire shops don't have very experienced workers, especially ones with tuner wheel and tire experience. I had 5 balances on the 18's and they final ran smooth as silk 110+mph the 16's took 3 times and they run very smooth except on bad roads of course. Find a good shop and explain your situation.

^^my next tire is going to be the nitto neo gen's. They are designed for negative camber. Plus they look coo. Maybe some one here has run them and they could comment I would like to know too.

i was going to go with the Neo-Gens till i saw the treadwear rrating at 280, so i went for some Falken Zeix 512, they are rated at 360 and if you got a camber problem got a camber kit, its worth it IMO. i have one and my tires last way longer than they ever could. plus the 2 tires should be the same price so therefore tires will last you longer on life.

just rebalance them. I have 17's on kumho 711 tires and there fine until 100-110mph. Before someone flames me for speeding on the freeway. This was on open road where you can see about 5-10miles ahead of you and no one was on the road.
