kuhmo ecsta asx + your input
i'm sick of 280/300 treadlife and need new tires
i'm considering these kuhmo's as tirerack seems to have mostly good opinions on them. i drive freeway and city alot and i just need some budget tires to get along. just wondering if anyone has had any personal experience in 205/40-17 with these. or if they'd recommend any others below 80$ per tire.
also, why are 205/45's so much more expensive and a few choices available, mostly high performance summer?

been along time kuhmo fan, these i can tell yo uare way better than the 711's but nothing compared to the mx's. they do well in corners, and i can't tell ya why the cost is more for the 45's maybe because there is more rubber.

i think the 205/45/17 cost more than the 215/45/17 because they're not a popular size... so they don't make as much of them. Since they make more 215/45, they can make it at a lower price, and that translates to lower prices for us.

My opinion on them is BLAH. They're ok. In the rain, they're safe feeling, but I've had better. They blow monkey ***** in the snow. They grip in dry fine, but I'm not the best opinion on that after bombing around a race track on MXs and Azenis. For DDing, they do fine, and they hold up to camber pretty well.
