Motegi Wheels

So i been reading up on these wheels and it seems there is a dislike for them. People saying the weight is bad, and 'you get what you pay for". so before i go out and buy these wheels by motegi i was wondering if those of you that have had any bad experiences with them post up, or just post up what is the bad points about them. im looking into the Motegi FF7's 16"

I had FF7's and they were awsome. very good finish and looked amazing. I really loved how the lip rolled in on the FF7...really sweet and looked insane when rolling...I had the black chromium finish (I think that's what it was called) I sold them though....

Their newer stuff (including the FF7 has really jumped up in quality and they've got a nice race lightweight wheel now as well.

I have my mr7's....people **** on those rims, but honestly, the chrome finish on mine still looks brand new, they've took on some pretty bad pot holes and they're still good...

I have the motegi MR3's. Everyone told me not to get them because they are heavy. I didn't really care, cause I'm not going for performance. If your just going for looks, there is nothing wrong with motegi.

I have mr-7 as well. Over used, but they look amazing good on our cars. For performance, only goot motegi is the trak Lites....but for show and quaility, all the other ones are good. When i swap, im gona get trak lites, but for now, with a d17....24 lbs per weel is not going to really hurt my car, lol. ITs slow no matter what.

Thats because people on here like to talk out of their ***..... the people that say Motegi is junk never had any personal experience with them and they just regurgitate what they read on car forums from other idiots who read it elsewhere.

Heavy? Yea, they are heavy but so is the majority of rims.... people always make it seem that Motgei makes the heaviest rims in the world.

I had MR7s before and they took a hell of a beating.... came out perfect after each time. I would like to see Axis, Konig or ADR take a beating around philly roads like the MR7s did and see what happens..

Most people, including me only dislike Motegi, for riping off other brands style's calling them their own, then mass producing them. And the fact the Mr7 is the most overused rim ever.

But i have heard good things on them, and if i had the $$$ id get me some TrakLites.

i had the mr-8 for about 2 years on 3 different cars (ZX2, Prelude, then the Civic for about a 3 months total) and they were nice rims. the finish lasted and still look good (my buddy has them on his Civic sedan w/gsr swap). only thing he had to do was get new tires.

I did blow out a tire hitting a pothole but the rim held up fine.
I did have to replace one rim when i flipped my prelude cause the wheel buckled under when the car slide and was destroyed, but i think any rim made by any company would have been ruined by that accident.

they werent to terribly heavy and i got alot of compliments on them when i had them. for the price, motegi is worth it.

"go with something different and stand out!!!"

why? really why? what if I thought MR7's were the nicest rims ever, should I not get them for the sake of being different and wanting to standout...

usually people that try to do something "different" and "stand out" end up with really nasty looking cars...lol...

how about go with something that you think will make your car look good, that looks good on your car, in YOUR OWN OPINION? There is a reason why a lot of people have these rims, and thats because, like it or not, they look good...they may not be nicer then other rims (when not mounted on a car just looking at them side by side) but on our cars specifically they look really hot...but again thats my opinion...this is just like the "no chrome on civics"...honestly, thats the gayest **** ever...I can bet you if you saw my car in person you'd like it...Im yet to find people that dont...same people that "hate" Mr7's and chrome rims...but they say it looks sooo good on the car...

you would have to see my car in person before you judge it..lol..

conclusion...bye what you like

I agree with the post above you man, those rims are sweet. But they are a classy, calm chrome. Not that crazy gaudy **** that look like one big chrome disc. I bet those things look crazy when your driving. I'd love to see a video of that.
